The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) was directed by the Social Security Administration to create an expert committee to examine the issue of sickle cell disease and social security disability evaluations. As part of this process, NASEM is calling on those with sickle cell and caregivers to share their experience and perspectives on living with or caring for individuals with SCD.
The NASEM webpage provides more information on this request and access to a questionnaire to complete. February 28 is the deadline to complete the questionnaire.
